The Jupp/Kayes Family Saga |
|
This site concerns the Genealogical information two families. These two families are separate and independent from each other yet tied by a common ancestor. Several of the current living decedents have pooled their resources and information to create this site. Throughout these pages there will be references to other families. We will try to limit that information as much as possible, however certain other family lines will be pursued as they pertain to the principle families. The person responsible for the creation of these two families was a young Irish woman named, Margaret Elizabeth Nesbitt. Margaret was born in Moore Park Lissa Valley, Galway, Ireland. (March 1888) She immigrated to England in her teens and took employment as a nanny to the children of a ships Captain. (Royal Navy) She met and married William Jupp C.P.O. Royal Navy, in December 1907. In 1910 young William or Will as he was called left the Navy and he and his young bride emigrated to Canada. (Rock Creek, British Columbia)with thier baby daughter Florence. We will tell more of the story later in Maggie's own words. In the fall of 1912 young Will passed away. (TB)leaving Maggie with two small children to raise in a foreign land, In 1914 Margaret met and married John Henry Kayes. Margaret had two children by her first marriage to Will Jupp, they were Florence Elisabeth b.1908 and William Henry b.1912 and to her second husband a son Brian Robert Nesbitt Kayes b. 1914, and so begins the tale of two families. Ma Kayes as she became known, never married a third time and became Grandmother to both sides of the family. |
